A Pastoral Letter on the Tragic Death of Charlie Kirk
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I write with a heavy heart as we grieve the sudden and tragic death of Charlie Kirk. At only 31 years old, Charlie’s life was cut short while doing what he so often did—engaging the culture, speaking boldly, and pointing others to his faith in Christ.
As Christians, we do not grieve without hope. Scripture reminds us: “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.” (Romans 14:8).
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” (John 11:25–26)
Our Prayers
Please join me in prayer:
- For Erika and the children—that God would surround them with His peace and provide faithful community.
- For family, friends, and colleagues—that their sorrow might be met by Christ’s presence.
- For our nation—that violence would cease and hearts would turn to Christ.
- For the church—that we would carry one another’s burdens and remain steadfast in faith.
Almighty God, Father of mercies and God of all comfort, draw near to the grieving. Guard Erika and the children, uphold all who mourn, and grant us the peace that passes understanding. Turn our hearts to Christ, our refuge and strength. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Walking Together
In times like these, we remember that the church is a family. If you are struggling, please reach out—let us pray with you and remind you of the promises of God.
In Christ’s Hope,
