Spiritual Growth Pathway

Worship • Belong • Learn • Serve

At St. James, growing in faith is simple. We invite you to take four steps—Worship, Learn, Serve, Belong—in the rhythm that works best for you. Whether you’re exploring faith, raising children, or deepening lifelong discipleship, each step helps you live life together in Christ.

Along the way, you can join milestone classes, connect with small groups, participate in service opportunities, and celebrate important faith moments like Baptism, First Communion, and Membership. Every step is designed to guide you, support your spiritual growth, and help you find your place in our church family.

Journey of Faith & Sacraments

Communion & Baptism

Communion & Baptism

Holy Baptism
  • Baptism is God’s promise, claiming us as His own and welcoming us into His family.
  • Baptism Class: 1st Sunday of February, May, August, November

Holy Communion
  • All baptized are welcome to receive Jesus’ body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
  • Not ready yet? You may remain seated or come forward for a blessing (cross your arms).
  • First Communion Class: 2nd Sunday of February, May, August, November
First Communion

First Communion

The sacrament is part of our worshiping community, reminding everyone of God’s grace and the gift we share at the Table.

  • Classes & Preparation:
Offered four times a year (February, May, August, November) on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Children and parents learn together about Jesus’ gift, forgiveness, and how to receive Communion faithfully.
  • Family Involvement:
Parents guide their child through lessons at home and celebrate this milestone together in worship.
Confirmation

Confirmation

  • A Journey of Faith:
Confirmation is more than a class, it’s a faith journey. Students learn the essentials of Christian faith, build relationships with mentors, and grow in their walk with Christ.

  • Curriculum & Schedule:
Classes cover Scripture, the Apostles’ Creed, Ten Commandments, Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, and Communion. Offered during the school year, with retreats and service opportunities to deepen faith and community.

Next Steps for Families

At St. James, First Communion is a joyful milestone where children are prepared to receive Christ’s gift with reverence and understanding, supported by their families and church.

Faith Milestones

Faith Milestones

At St. James, we walk with families through life’s key moments of faith. From Baptism to First Communion, Confirmation to Graduation, each milestone is an opportunity to pause, celebrate, and give thanks for God’s promises. These special moments are marked with blessings in worship, simple classes, and family resources to help faith grow at home.

Milestones We Celebrate:
  • Holy Baptism
God’s promise for children and adults.
  • First Communion
Preparation and celebration at the Lord’s Table.
  • Confirmation
Rooted in Scripture and the catechism.
  • Graduation Blessings
Sending youth into the next chapter with prayer.
  • Other Faith Steps
    Marriage, parent blessings, and more.
