Worship & Ministry

Experience Faith Through Worship

Here at St. James, we believe that music and worship are an integral part to a full and rewarding relationship with God.

Psalms 98:4 says to "shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises."

We love to incorporate music from different generations, showing appreciation for both classic and contemporary songs. In our worship service, you will find a blended approach, understanding that our ultimate goal is to foster an environment where authentic praise and worship to God can take place.

Praise Band

Praise Band

We are blessed to have a number of church members who share their God-given talents with the church and congregation every Sunday. Our praise band is currently made up of a pianist, trombonist, saxophonist, drummer, and vocalist. We are always excited for the opportunity to feature musicians from within the community, and have welcomed guest musicians to join us for special services, which has allowed us to add violin, trumpet, euphonium, and guitar on several occasions.

If you are interested in learning more about the praise band, or if you would like to discuss joining, please reach out to our Worship Ministry Director.

 Choir

 Choir

Our choir is made up of passionate men and women that love to sing for Jesus. We welcome those from 13 years and up, with special consideration taken if a younger member is currently in a school choir. The choir season begins the week of Labor Day in September and ends the Sunday before Memorial Day in May. We typically sing once per month during our 9AM worship service, and work through a year-long choir setting.

We would love for you to join us; choir practice is on Wednesdays at 6PM. If you would like to join, or have any questions, please reach out to our Worship Ministry Director.

Bryce Nelson

Bryce Nelson

Bryce Nelson serves as the Worship Ministry Director for St. James. He is a proud graduate of Warren Central High School, and has been involved in music for his entire life. He has been trained in piano and voice, and has been blessed to have had the opportunity to record in Nashville, TN. He has also had the wonderful blessing to have performed with a number of Christian artists, and enjoys hosting praise and worship concerts in his free time.

Bryce has over 15 years of church music involvement and leadership, and loves having the opportunity to facilitate authentic worship for his church family. He says this: "I believe that God has given me a voice and the passion for music for a reason. For me, to sing for someone is a privilege, but to sing for THE ONE is an honor."

Bryce and his wife have been married for over 5 years, and have a son that they absolutely adore.

Music Ministry at St. James

At St. James, music is at the heart of our worship. Rooted in the rich tradition of hymnody and sacred music, our ministry lifts voices and hearts to God while supporting the beauty and reverence of the liturgy.

Through choir, instrumental ensembles, and congregational singing, we seek to glorify God and encourage one another in faith.
